The Apple iPod Shuffle is the smallest MP3 player in the market, measuring 1.07 x 1.62 x 0.41 inches (2.73 x 4.12 x 1.05 cm) and weighing 0.55 ounces (15.6 grams). It comes in silver, red, green, purple and blue aluminium exteriors. It is the second generation of the Apple iPod Shuffle.

The Apple iPod Shuffle has a 1GB flash drive that enables it to hold up to 240 songs inside its small frame. It has a skip-free playback feature and can recognise a vast range of sounds starting from a low 20Hz to 20,000Hz. It supports many audio formats such as MP3, AAC and WAV. The Apple iPod Shuffle has the ability to perform up to 12 hours of music playback once fully charged.

The Apple iPod Shuffle is ergonomically designed for easy use. The user has to press the centre to pause/play the track or the outer buttons which will enable the user to skip forward, go back or adjust the volume. The Apple iPod Shuffle has a built-in clip which enables the users to wear the Apple iPod Shuffle anywhere on them. This allows maximum portability and choice of style available to the user, which is one of the qualities that make it unique from the other Apple iPods.

The Apple iPod Shuffle can sync with a Mac computer with operating system Mac OS X v10.4.8 or later and Windows Vista and XP Home or Professional with a Service pack 2 or later. Whichever software is selected, both will run iTunes 7.4 or later.

The Apple iPod Shuffle’s built-in Lithium rechargeable battery gives users the benefit of using their Apple iPod for up to 12 hours at a stretch. Once the battery does run out, a 4 hour recharge will ensure it is back to a 100% battery life again.
